You Can Workout Indoors When It's Cold! - I Love Kickboxing Atlanta
If the recent change in weather has thrown you off of to exercise in the cold, then at least find motivation to attempt indoor exercises. As it feels great to stay snuggled on the couch with a blanket, calories won’t be burned that way. Besides, the more your body moves around, the warmer you’ll feel. If you wore layers at the beginning of your workout, a good one will have you remove a couple of them from burning and sweating — the cold air will actually feel good!
These workouts can be done indoors and outdoors alike: jumping jacks, squats, burpees, push-ups, lunges, running up and down the stairs. To move consistently with the heart rate pumping in the cardio zone for 30 minutes is an accomplishment. An hour will make you feel even more pumped! Or if you feel brave to exercise in the cold outside, having warm coffee waiting for you when you get back could be a good push. Other motivators can include music, dogs, workout partners, and rewards.
OR, if you need motivation to workout indoors, check out the all-year round studios of I Love Kickboxing. You only have to step outside a little bit to reach your car. However, once you make it through our doors, feel excited for all that you will have access to: fitness coaches for motivation, space to run around, large body-sized punching bags, fitness companions, the opportunity to have fun, and a guaranteed good wholesome workout.
Whatever the reason, you need to find ways to continue exercising during cold weather so that you can still reach your goals. Like the cold, hard-earned results can also be temporary. If you can overcome working out when it’s cold, you will be in awesome shape for spring and summer! You will also feel that you really earned the recent status achieved.

What and When You Should Eat When Working Out
Do you ever wonder what you should eat before going to exercise or when to eat before going? Many people make the same mistakes. It's a common mistake to eat right before going to exercise or they might not eat enough. So I am hear to help you to make better choices of what to eat and when you should eat.
When should you eat? A common question that our members have when coming to a lunch or evening class. If you want to eat before class you will want to eat at least an hour before. This way it gives your body time to digest. Also, you don't want to eat anything to heavy or greasy even if it is an hour before class. Once you start moving around you'll start to feel it and greasy heavy foods don't give you the energy that you need to make it through your workout. You can eat after your workout if you would prefer. It's actually really good to eat after your workout because you are still burning tons of calories an hour after you exercise.
What should you eat? Like I said before you shouldn't eat any real heavy or greasy. A big salad with grilled chicken with a light dressing is perfect to eat at least an hour before your workout. If you want a little snack before or after your workout, a banana is a great food to eat. It's not too filling. They're especially good for after exercising because they can prevent muscle cramps. You also want to make sure you drink plenty of water before and after your workout. You want to avoid dehydration and it helps you keep your energy up to make it through the kickboxing class.
Once you put all these things together you will feel amazing throughout the kickboxing workout and find yourself not feeling so tired. It will help you even outside of just your daily workout, you will feel better in your every day life.

Fitness Kickboxing in Atlanta
"Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible
into the visible.” - Tony Robbins
Goal setting is an important aspect of all areas of life. In
order to accomplish anything you have to figure out where you want to go, then
make a plan for how to get there. This is no less true when it comes to fitness
and living a healthy lifestyle. The American Council on Exercise recommends
setting goals the SMART way:
SPECIFIC: The fitness goals
must specifically state what is to be accomplished. They must be easily
understood and should not be ambiguous or subject to interpretation. For
example, rather than stating you would like to improve your fitness level, set
a specific fitness goal to be able to run a mile in 12 minutes.
MEASURABLE: The fitness
goals must be measureable so that there is no doubt about whether you achieved
them. Measurable fitness goals also allow you to evaluate your progress. Goals
can be measured objectively or subjectively (i.e., how you feel and look), or
both. For example, you could measure your percent body fat and body weight, but
also monitor how your pants fit.
ATTAINABLE: The fitness
goals must be attainable—not too difficult or too easy. Easy fitness goals do
not motivate, and overly difficult ones may frustrate you and lead to a
perception of failure.
RELEVANT: The fitness goals
must be relevant or pertinent to your particular interests, needs and abilities.
For example, when preparing for a 5K walk, running quarter-mile sprints would
not be the best approach.
TIME-BOUND: The
fitness goals must be time-bound by specific deadlines for completion.
Timelines can be both short-term and long-term and should help you stay focused
and on track.
Make sure you choose goals that are realistic. It is much healthier,
and much more easily maintained, to set a goal to lose 1-2 pounds per week than
10. Choosing fitness a goal that is unhealthy or unreasonable leads to burnout
and injury. Ultimately, you want to establish habits that will stay with you
for the rest of your life.
Measureable and attainable goals keep discouragement at bay.
Tangibly assessing how many pounds you have lost, either by stepping on the
scale or by seeing how your clothes fit differently, keeps you encouraged and
wanting to continue. Find the sweet spot between goals that are too easy or too
hard so you don’t get lazy or frustrated. You may need to set some short-term
goals along the way to your ultimate goal.
A good mix of goals that are either process oriented or
product oriented will keep you motivated. An example of a process goal would
be, “I am going to go to kickboxing three times this week.” A product goal
would be increasing the amount of weight you can bench press or losing an inch
off your thighs.
Have some activity or fitness workout routine that you enjoy
and grab someone to enjoy it with you. If you enjoy it you will tend to stick
with it. Be prepared to work through the times when it is just plain hard,
though. Establishing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle takes diligence and
self-discipline, but goal-setting can keep you on track.
